Fruity, aromatic and very tasty is the orange syrup. With it you can conjure up delicious refreshing drinks and cocktails or refine desserts and pastries. According to this recipe you can make orange syrup yourself. It's easy, quick and requires few ingredients.

Ingredients
300mlorange juice freshly squeezed(from approx. 5 oranges)
zest of 5 organic oranges
300gsugar
juice of 1 lemonfreshly squeezed
Instructions
Put orange juice, orange zest, sugar and lemon juice in a saucepan.
Bring the orange-sugar mixture to a boil, stirring, and simmer for 5 minutes.
Pour the orange mixture through a sieve, catch the syrup in a sterilized glass bottle and seal it. Let the orange syrup cool.
Notes
Instead of lemon juice, you can use food grade citric acid. Adjust the amount of it to taste.
You can reduce the amount of sugar. The less sugar you use, the shorter the shelf life of the homemade orange syrup. In addition, with less sugar, its consistency will also be thinner.
