Oven fries / baked potato fries

Crispy on the outside and soft on the inside taste these homemade fries. You can enjoy them as a snack or serve them with a side dish as a main meal. How to make oven potato fries itself, you will learn in this recipe. They are not only heavenly delicious, but also low fat.

Ingredients

  • 1 kg potatoes waxy
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • salt

Instructions

  • Peel potatoes, cut them into sticks about 1 cm thick and rinse them under cold running water to wash off the starch.
  • Transfer the potato sticks to a clean towel and pat dry.
  • Now place the potato sticks in a large bowl, sprinkle cornstarch on top and mix well so that each potato stick is coated with cornstarch, removing the excess cornstarch.
  • Add vegetable oil and salt to the potato sticks and mix thoroughly.
  • Spread the potato sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper so that they do not overlap or touch, and bake them in a preheated oven at 220 °C top and bottom heat for about 25 minutes, turning them once after the first 15 minutes or so.
  • Serve the hot fries immediately after baking.

Notes

  • You can add any seasoning to the fries.
  • Cornstarch provides a crispy top layer to the oven fries.
