Kebab sauce / vegan garlic yogurt sauce

According to this simple recipe you can make the vegan kebab sauce with yogurt and garlic yourself. You only need a few ingredients and the sauce is ready very quickly. It also goes perfectly with other dishes, such as salads, bowls or falafels.

Ingredients

  • 200 g natural unsweetened vegetable yogurt (e.g. soy yogurt)
  • 20 g tahini
  • 1 clove of garlic
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • salt
  • pepper

Instructions

  • Mix vegetable natural yogurt, tahini, pressed garlic and lemon juice to a homogeneous mass, season the kebab sauce with salt and pepper.
  • Alternatively, you can put all the ingredients, including the whole, peeled garlic clove, in a blender and mix to a homogeneous sauce.

Notes

  • Instead of vegetable natural yogurt also works natural yogurt from cow's milk. In this case, the kebab sauce is not vegan.
  • Use only yogurt without sugar.
  • You can add fresh herbs to the kebab sauce.
  • Instead of tahini go cashew butter and almond paste.
  • Instead of lemon juice goes apple cider vinegar.
