Russian beet salad with garlic

Creamy, spicy and very tasty is the Russian beet salad with garlic. It consists of only three main ingredients, can be additionally refined with nuts or herbs and is vegan possible. Moreover, you can conjure up the salad with beet according to this recipe easily and in a flash on the dining table. It is perfect with a side dish as a main course or on bread as a cold appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 500 g beet boiled and peeled
  • 3 cloves of garlic peeled
  • approx. 80 g mayonnaise (or sour cream, natural yoghurt)
  • salt
  • pepper

additionally alternatively

  • any herbs
  • roasted and chopped walnuts

Instructions

  • Coarsely grate cooked beet and put it in a salad bowl.
  • Crush garlic and add it to the beet in the salad bowl.
  • Add mayonnaise and mix it into a homogeneous salad, seasoning it with salt and pepper.
  • Alternatively, you can add fresh herbs or roasted and chopped walnuts to the salad.

Notes

  • It is best to buy raw beet and cook it or bake it in the oven yourself for the salad.
  • You can adjust the amount of garlic to taste, depending on how spicy you like your beet salad.
  • You can make the salad with mayonnaise, sour cream, natural yogurt or a mixture of them. For vegan version, use vegan mayonnaise.
