The classic mulled wine is made with red wine. According to this recipe you can easily make it yourself. Use spices and citrus fruits according to your taste.

400mlred wine
80ghoney
1/2organic orange with peel
1/2organic lemon with peel
1/2apple
1stick of cinnamon
2star anise
4cloves
1small piece ofnutmeg
6whole peppercorns
100mlwater
Instructions
Put water in a saucepan, add cinnamon, star anise, cloves, nutmeg and peppercorns, boil it for about 1 minute, cover and let it steep for about 10 minutes.
Cut orange and lemon into small cubes, add them to the saucepan with the spices and squeeze some juice from the fruits, e.g. with a potato masher.
Cut apple into small cubes and add it to the cooking pot together with honey to the other ingredients.
Now add red wine, stir it and heat it up to approx. 60 °C - 70 °C. You must not boil the wine. Take the saucepan off the heat, cover it and let the mulled wine steep for about 10 minutes. Then pour it through a sieve.
