Blini vegan with dry or fresh yeast?

You can prepare the vegan blini both with dry yeast and fresh yeast. I had used dry yeast in the recipe. If you use fresh yeast, you need 11 g fresh yeast for the recipe below. You don’t have to mix it with flour, sugar and salt, as it says in the recipe, but dissolve it in lukewarm water. Then mix the yeast-water mixture with the flour, sugar and salt mixture.

For the blini vegan with yeast you need

  • yeast, of course,
  • flour,
  • water,
  • vegetable oil,
  • some sugar
  • and small amount of salt.

As I have already mentioned, I had taken dry yeast. However, fresh yeast also go. The water must necessarily be lukewarm, so that the yeast can develop their effect.

To prepare thin pancakes vegan with yeast: this is how it works

  1. Mix flour, dry yeast, sugar and salt. Add lukewarm water and mix everything well to form a liquid dough. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for 50 minutes.
  2. Add vegetable oil to the liquid dough and mix.
  3. In the greased hot pan, fry thin pancakes from the batter until golden brown on both sides. Ready are your vegan thin pancakes with yeast!

For the vegan blini without yeast you need

  • sparkling mineral water,
  • flour,
  • vegetable oil,
  • some sugar
  • and some salt.

Prepare thin pancakes vegan without yeast: this is how you do it

  1. Mix flour, sugar and salt. Gradually add carbonated mineral water and stir to form a liquid dough. Let the dough rest for about 15 minutes.
  2. Add vegetable oil to the liquid dough and mix.
  3. In the greased hot pan, fry thin pancakes of the batter until golden brown on both sides. Your vegan thin pancakes without yeast are ready!

Vegan blini: with these tips and tricks you’ll make them perfectly

  • Instead of dry yeast, you can use fresh yeast for vegan blini with yeast. For the recipe below you need 11 g of it. You have to dissolve the fresh yeast in lukewarm water and not mix it with flour, sugar and salt like dry yeast.
  • Water for the vegan blini dough with yeast must be lukewarm, so that the yeast can develop its effect.
  • Let the yeast dough for vegan thin pancakes rest covered in a warm place.
  • Wheat flour is best for Russian blini – even in vegan versions.
  • Vegetable oil must not be missing in the dough, otherwise blini will stick to the pan and taste too dry later.
  • Before frying the vegan thin pancakes, the pan must be well heated. Among other things, this ensures that the blini do not stick to the pan.
  • It is enough to grease the pan with vegetable oil once before frying.
  • I had used a Ø 20 cm coated pan for frying and with it, according to the recipes below, I got 16 vegan blini without yeast and 14 vegan blini with yeast. Depending on how big your pan is, you may end up with more or less blini.

Ingredients
  

  • 500 ml water (lukewarm)
  • 25 ml vegetable oil
  • 20 g sugar
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 4 g dry yeast
  • 250 g flour
  • vegetable oil for greasing the pan

Instructions
 

  • Mix flour, dry yeast, salt and sugar.
  • Gradually add lukewarm water and mix to form a liquid dough. Cover the dough and let it rest in a warm place for about 50 minutes.
  • Add vegetable oil to the liquid dough and mix it.
  • Grease the pan with vegetable oil and heat it. Using a ladle, pour some batter into the hot pan and make brisk circular motions with the pan so that the batter spreads evenly and thinly all over the surface of the pan. Fry the pancake over medium heat until golden brown to golden brown on both sides. Repeat until all the batter is used, stirring the batter in the mixing bowl as you go. There is no need to grease the pan again.
